In the summer of 2024, I went to Malcolm Island to work and create art at the Oceanfront Hotel. Using dried bulb kelp and repurposed housekeeping materials, I made a scrub shirt and textile wall hangings. Drawn to a nearby subdivided but undeveloped property—its leftover space reflected the emotions I felt just before losing my last parent. In response, I created the accompanying video.
