In the summer of 2024, I travelled to Malcolm Island to work as a housekeeper and make art at the Oceanfront Hotel. Using dried bull kelp and repurposed housekeeping materials, I created a scrub shirt and textile wall hangings. I was drawn to a nearby subdivided but undeveloped property; its leftover, in-between space mirrored the emotions I was experiencing just before losing my last parent. In response, I created the accompanying video.
